SubjectBad sound on Win2K and Pinmame/VP Reply to this message

I'm having a problem with the sound breaking up under Windows 2000 (SB Live card), it sounds like when you crank up the volume and overload a set of tinny desktop speakers. All boards do this and didn't before on Win98.

I've ruled out and/or tried:
Processor Speed (1.33ghz)
Audio Hardware Acceleration settings (tried them all)
Volume settings (within windows, VP and pinmame)
Compatibility mode (Win95/Win98)
Increasing priority of the task
DirectX (8.0A installed)
Latest SB Live Drivers installed
Installed latest Microsoft compatibility upgrade file

I'm running out of options here, anyone else encountered this problem and generated a fix for it? I don't know why it would do this under 2000 and not 98.

Thanks.
