SubjectAJ, why don't you provide Nicky Special's modded tables? new Reply to this message

I tried out his modified versions of High Speed, Theatre of Magic, White Water, Indy500, Tales of the Arabian Nights, and The Getaway, and they all look A LOT more like the real tables than the original authors' tables. They have transparent ramps where applicable and have all of the cosmetic touches missing from the authors' tables. Why don't you put them on your site? Here's the link to Nicky's tables Nicky Special's Modded VPinMAME Tables

I know AJ doesn't carry any mods at all unless it's deemed an "official version". Nicky's tables? I've tried High Speed 2.00dx & I find that the graphics don't really line up with the walls so I am just using 1.21. White Water seems fine though I've only played Nicky's a couple times.

If his modifications really were acceptable, the original authors would work off that release. Although Nicky's modifications with decals do look stunning, they have some underlying issues. The tables look great as long as you don't play them - I have trouble with the ball hitting walls I can't see, or the ball going ovwer inlane dividers which shouldn't be possible, or going behind a wall and still being visible. I'd prefer to have a table that plays great, and looks ok, than one that looks great and only plays ok.
