I have a problem with VPMAME: The music and sounds effect are low, and the flipper and ball sounds are too high. How can I control it? Thanks!

Preferences/Audio Options..

(For some games you can use "8" and "9" to adjust game sound volume. F2 to view all keys.)

Thanks for the keys, but I Knew it.
The problem is different. When I don't use the samples (unmark the "Use samples" option in the F1 menu) the sound is good. But, when I use the samples, the flipper and ball sounds are too high, even if I use de 8 or 9 keys or the Preferences/Sound options...

Well, you could always load up each sample from your pinmame.zip file of samples, into an audio editor, and adjust the volume there, and then save it, and rezip them all again.

Yeah, we can't play samples at different volumes, yet. So pre-editing them yourself is the current way to change that.

I don't get it. If the sound is good when the samples are off, why not leave them off then.

You can change the relative volume of the samples in PinMAMEw by using the "key to the left of 1" menu.

I've had similar problems, especially with games like "Scared Stiff" and "Attack from Mars."

Not to be completely redundant, but you've cranked the volume in-game using the '8' and '9' keys [triggering the volume slider bar in the pinball game's display window (sometimes you have to hit the 'end' key so the game thinks the coin door has been opened)], and still no good?

I know with many of the more recent games (at least in my experience)you practically have to crank the in-game volume to max to get a decent balance between the game's actual sounds and the flipper/ball noises.
