When you say they don't work, you mean no sound or bad sound? Which ROMs?

Well i'm embarrassed to admit this but the reason I wasn't getting any sound was due to the fact that I didn't have sound turned on. Didn't realize you have to enable it. Hit me with the stupid stick:) If you get a chance would you mind telling me what keys to hit to change the sound volume during the game?
