I've burned through about 4 PSUs in the last 3-4 months, this last one lasted less than 3 weeks.
They were all generic 500W PSUs ( 230W real power )

I'm running an Athlon XP 1800 with 1GB DDR266 ram, a GF4 Ti 4200 128MB 8X, a generic CDRW 40x12x40, a VCom cooler for the processor, a generic fan in the back and 2 HDs, a 60GB 5400rpm and an 80GB 7200rpm.

All that in an ASUS A7V8X-X mobo ( previously on a Soyo Dragon plus wich killed a couple of PSUs as well ).

Is there any reason this setup is killing PSUs left and right? If i sprung the cash for a brandname PSU with more power ( say a Thermaltake 380-420W ) could i possibly be safe from any more burnouts?

Gives us a kiss precious.
