There is a file that won't delete, says it's in use, which is bullshit. I rebooted several times, and no process is running/ using it. Any ideas? Bizarre shit. No it's not a virus either.
Cool! Found this, maybe it will help others

I get this all the time with .avi files, for some reason. Anyway, you don't need to go through all that shit. Just open another application that lets you explore files. For instance, I'll use ACDSee, Tag & Rename, etc... Anything that has the ability to look at files and delete them.

open a command prompt

ctrl-alt-del

end task - explorer.exe

alt+tab to prompt, go thru the dir tree until you get to the file you want to kill

del file

ctrl-alt-del -> new task explorer.exe

shouldn't even kill any other progs, a few things may disappear from the systray tho, but they'll still be running (icon just won't reappear for some of them) anyway, it'll save you a reboot and everything else just runs happily along ;)

Switching to detail view in explorer ought to stop it from trying to generate the previews etc.

Though that's not my issue. I'm always in detail view. If you have the status bar across the bottom, it will preview the file and show the details there as well (length, etc.).

But even after all of that, the file is sometimes still locked. So I need to use other stuff.

Using the MS PowerToy "Command Prompt Here" is useful, as it lets you right-click on the parent folder and open a Command prompt on that folder, thus negating the need for navigation (though using TweakUI lets you set a key for folder-name completion, which is mighty helpful for navigation...).
