Fuck ATI, those bugfixes are ridiculous, as are the "known problems", back to nVidia for my next GFX card (unless someone tells me the situation is as bad on that front).
Some "funny" bugs :
# Half-Life 2: Playing the game on a system containing an Athlon XP CPU no longer results in missing textures occationally being noticed # Half-Life 2: Intermittent psychedelic patterns are no longer seen when playing the game under Windows XP # CounterStrike: Playing the game under Windows XP with an ATI RADEON™ X800 series installed no longer results in display corruption being seen in the floor in de_chateau map # Doom 3: Playing the game under Windows XP with an ATI RADEON™ X800 XT Platinum Edition no longer results in display corruption being seen when pressing CTRL+Alt+Delete followed by clicking Cancel
followed by a myriad of inane and obscure shit having to do with their moronic control panels (not even talking about the CCC nonsense here) and "close" buttons not closing windows... some bugs are squashed and come back, alternatively, each and every release; multimonitor support in particular is ASS.
Meanwhile, looooong-standing bugs which must be reported ten times an hour with popular games in normal use are not even mentioned (see digit-life's 3Digest).
I switched to ATI in the early GeForce FX days, but this is too much. Sorry for the rant, I needed to vent. Bye !
