I have 512mb (256x2) of HP Sever mem (P/N 261583-031) and for the life of me, I can't get it to work. anyone know if its "protected" to only work in compaq servers or if there is any way to test it. For the time being its making my test mobos just beep :(

That memory is Registered ECC, most motherboards only support unbuffered ECC.
