Just that it's in the forum description, so I was curious. Is the project even still around? These days, I've been donating my spare cycles to Folding@Home.

I took a while off due to alien abduction, but came back and I'm all better now.

The forum ruler Bluejaywpg is closing fast on those of us still searching for the elusive spacemen and crushing us one by one.

Although I've switched clients. The downside is that SETIBOINC fluctuates between pre-alpha and production status depending on how the servers feel about life. The upside is that you have a nice little framework to run other projects (I'm currently splitting my time between SETI and Einstein).

Well if the switch went OK I'm boincing.

This is probably in a FAQ somewhere.
When they finally shut down the old client will you just get boinced for your "Classic" result credit or will they roll it in somehow?

It more or less went OK. The servers seem to go down occasionally, so it's not perfect yet. They've been up more than down lately, though.

Well, there's a Q&A message board.

It's not rolled in, as such, due to the way BOINC handles work and work units, but your old stats are posted on your profile, so it's not like they're just discounting all your old work. Also, the new way is (theoretically) equivalent across projects, so if you do 800 points of SETI and 800 points of Einstein, then you know that you've done roughly equivalent work between the two projects, even though an Einstein WU takes about twice as long to crunch.

Heh you noticed eh? Yeah ever since I got a brand new P4 2.8 GHz laptop & some old parts to put together another PC, I've been going crazy lately. I'm also supposed to get a free old server soon which will help a little. But I'm in trouble because I cannot for the life of me remember my password & the address I am registered to went down the tubes. So once the old APP is no longer useable I guess I have to create a new account & start over.
