I can second this. I saw a R360 version of Afterburner (not sure if 1 or 2) in London in a SEGA arcade hall near Piccadilly Circus in 1993. Didn't play it, because it was damn expensive and I didn't have that much money.
Also played Star Wars Arcade there. Pretty damn cool, that the pilot and the gunner could be different people.
