Hi Sixtoe, great site! I have it bookmarked of course.
Well anyhoo, to the help part. I am currently putting together a small themed arcade project, here in the Southern Cal area. It will be a Space themed arcade and I want to use a some of the motion simulators like the R360, a couple of the G-loc series cabinets, and maybe the T-meks. Is there a source for these units that you know of? I have been doing research to narrow down the cabinets, and I am just starting on the software senerio of the game selection and how they link together.
I am considering doing custom software using existing software engines that utilize the motion cabinets, so I know I'm already in trouble (Ha! Ha!). However the advantage of the custom software would be facility wide integration the downside of course is the cost. The happy medium would be to just use the software that receives imput from the boards so that players games can be tracked, maybe using one of the arcade management software packages.. I am trying to do the research myself to help defray start-up cost, everything is out of pocket until I past the design stage and bring in my investors. I will be looking to hire people who are experts in these and other motion cabinet series video games, and there were quite a few.
Where really do I start? Where can I find the tech specs, manuals, pin outs, boards, which series board, which other games were compatible with these series cabinets? Which, if any can I still find new? Are there any modifications to any of the softwares that was done by independant companies that or hack's? Did I forget anything?
My wife and I are getting to retirement age and she wants to get into owner/mangement of a washermat type business, so that I would have something easy to do where it's mostly just sitting, and light duty work. So I came up with something that I would love to do and is a good stable business to boot. I love the idea of giving kids a fun and safe enviornment where they can just hang, and inexpensive enough to be able to play a lot. I am hoping to charge maybe 25 or 50 cents per play in the gaming area and maybe an indoor paintball game. Hope someone can help. I can be contacted at:
