SubjectSystem 24 disk images Reply to this message

First off, let me state that I don't feel too comfortable asking a question which could potentially get me banned, but keep in mind that the Sega System 24 is NOT being emulated yet, so disk images are useless unless you actually have THE GAME ITSELF.

My boss has aquired a Sega Super Masters Golf game, and is missing the floppy disk inside. I have scoured the net for the disk images, and have come up empty handed. The system 24 isn't emulated yet, so its damn difficult to find 'em. Is there anyone, ANYONE who knows if these are archived anywhere, or for sale, or whatever? My boss wants to convert the cabinet into something useable but I am somewhat of a purist and would like to at least try to get this game going.

http://cgfm2.emuviews.com/s24.htm#l2 is the only site I found with images on it, and the links are broken. The owner of the site is not responding to emails.

Uh, help?

There are no working Disc images of System24 games on the net (well I actually I believe Hot Rod is okay, and some mahjong games), which won't work on Sega Super Masters Golf setup.

This game uses an Hitachi FDxxx CPU which is encrypted and game specific, also the chances are the CPU is dead by now, the batteries only last for 4-8 years.

So sorry to say not much luck there, I'd be intrested in buying the motherboard and floppy if he wants to sell it though.

Right, well, this is the one exception to the ROM thing anyway, as its well known that the disk images are fragile and tend to degrade over time.
Im not too sure how you'd go about writing one to a disk and if it'd work if you just did it from a PC, but its probably worth a try.
The reason you cant find any images is that they're nearly all bad (including cgfm's site), and the couple that are good have not been released yet as they are still being verified, being criminally hard to dump.
At present the golf one isnt dumped but I beleive someone has it for dumping...

Anyway, not a lot of help I know, but at least you're in the know now,

Six...
