So I just got a Dead or Alive PCB running on Model 2A CRX...

It's supposed to be working but it's not :( I can't find a manual online, does anyone have one scanned in?

When I power the PCB up, I get garbage for video, and only the main power LED (LED 11) lights up. No LEDs light up on the CPU board or the video board.

I've tried adjusting the +5V supply, but either nothing changes, or I get a black screen instead. Any ideas?

Try making sure all the interboard connectors are in tightly, it sounds like the top board isnt getting power to me, apart from that, just make sure its clean and all the soldering and componants are sound,

Already tried taking the boards apart and putting them back together again but still no luck, I'll take a look and see if there are any bent pins or similar. Thanks :)

Just tried it with another power supply just to see what happens, I notice that...

...if I adjust the power supply one way (I think down, forgot my meter today), I get a black screen. Only LED 11 on the CPU board lights up. The four LEDs on the graphics board light up and stay lit.

...if I adjust the power supply back up, I get garbage on the screen. LED 11 is the only LED to light up on the CPU board, but the four LEDs on the graphics board light up when the board is powered up and then turn off after a second or two.

Unfortunately the previous owner of the board epoxied a JAMMA conversion harness to the filterboard so it's hard for me to futz with anything short of taking the boards apart and trying to make sure they are put back together tightly. :( Any particular trouble spots I should look at, if the CPU board isn't getting enough juice? Which power connector on the filterboard powers the CPU board?

Thanks again for any help :)

If anyone cares, I got it working. Just needed to tear the board stack down and put it back together again (loose connection somewhere in there, sigh)...

Now, anyone know what I need to do to convert this back into a VF2? :)

Great! thats excellent :)

Thought it had to be a dodgy interboard connection!

As for changing the games around, its a simple rom swap as long as its on the same system, i.e. 2A CRX,

Cheers,
