SubjectKonami Cobra pinouts? Reply to this message

So I just got a Fighting Bujutsu board (Konami Cobra hardware)...

Unfortunately I didn't get any documentation, and the board appears to be very much not JAMMA...it looks like it has three or four separate power supply connectors, two VGA outputs, 4.1 channel sound, and what appears to be a USB port for input :(

Anyone have any documentation for the board, or have any idea what else I might need to track down or build to get the thing working? Thanks :)

Replying to my own post...

A bit of research suggests that the game is JVS compliant, for the most part, except for the power connectors (one is JVS, the other two are proprietary and marked as "3.3V" and "12V")...

Anyone know a good place to get matching connectors? I assume I could use something like a Sega NAOMI I/O board to convert to a standard JAMMA pinout?

Does anyone have more detailed information on the two proprietary power connectors?

Hmmm, I'm not entirely sure, you could try happcontrols.com or maybe seuservice.com I suppose and see what they throw up?

Six...

I find the ultimate place for finding connectors and information about these is www.digikey.com. It will not provide info on the pinouts for your PCB ofcourse, but you will probably find the correct connectors there.. Just keep looking.. Try Molex first..

Thanks, I knew about Digikey but haven't searched extensively for the connectors, was hoping that someone else already knew the info :)

I did some research - since both Fighting Bujutsu and Naomi are JVS (new JAMMA) standard, the I/O board from a Naomi should work fine with Fighting Bujutsu according to a Japanese site I found...one downside is that the Konami I/O board had dipswitches which are missing on the Naomi I/O board, but the game should be playable...

Once I get the power wired up, we'll see if my board actually works...wish me luck, I'll keep you all updated. :)
