Hi guys. I was wondering how progress is cumming along with the model 3 emu? In light of the recent discovery of Sega's OutRun 2 port for the Xbox having both Daytona USA 2 and Super GT tracks, I have been itchin to play the originals again.
The conversion of those particular tracks in OR2 have been pretty faithful to the original games, but there *ARE* quite a few details missing from them...namely the trademark animations that made them so wonderful to look at in the arcade.
For example, in the Super GT track in OutRun 2 the waterfall is missing, the torches are not lit, there are no bulls running, there is no plane flying over the airport, there are no fish in the aquarium, etc. In the Daytona 2 track, the rollycoaster is missing, the spider is missing, the boat doesn't swing as fast as the original, and there are no bats in the tunnel.
This being the case, many people who will be buying the game and who are into the emu scene will notice these omissions and will be wondering when we will be able to play these games on a model 3 emu.
Do you guys think the current M3 emu will progress enough to play Daytona 2 and Super GT at 100% frame rate and with all details within a year from now and on high end PCs? When do you see it happening? In 3 months? 6 months? 9 months? Over a year? What do you speculate the minumum required spec will be? 3Ghz? 3.5? 4?
Finally what is the name of the current M3 emu and where can I read up on it?
I'm just a symptom of the moral decay that's gnawing at the heart of the...country
