I saw there was an questionmark at the "J4" (A-board) jumper info... so i have made two recordings from Kid Niki thatlet you hear the differences Kid Niki sound recordings

and the conclusion judging to the recordings is that it adds more bass to the sound, having incorrect jumper setting makes it sound like in Mame... the bass sounds can barely be heard.
