--------------------------------- Final Burn --------------------------------- Basics! ------- Final Burn is an arcade emulator. It requires the rom images of the original arcade machines to emulate them. (If you aren't familiar with emulators, you should note that this program is different from a game, since it's a tool used to run the original games.) ========================================================= Make sure you visit the homepage at www.finalburn.com ========================================================= --------------------------------------------------------------------------- What's new? v0.061 + Changed the fast forward key from 'Shift' to 'End'. (To avoid Hot Rod joystick conflicts.) + Added some helper options which allow you to select general input devices from the Input Dialog. e.g. to use Joystick 1 for Player 1: Click "Input", click "Player 1" from the drop-down menu, and then click "Joystick 1" from the drop-down menu. To remap individual buttons, quit the emulator and edit the .ini file for the game. + Fixed some incorrect checksum references in the sf2t driver + Added support for Street Fighter 2 CE + Changed the way sf2t is loaded (it's done like Mame now, by using the shared data in sf2ce.zip and sf2t.zip) - No sound yet :( v0.060 + Added support for Street Fighter Zero (CPS2) (sfz.zip) Jap r1 (sfzjr1) and Jap (sfzj) are supported. + Added support for Street Fighter Zero (CPS Changer) (sfzch.zip) + Added support for Street Fighter 2 Turbo (CPS1) (sf2t.zip) + Added Dip switch support (in the cfg files) v0.052 + Added a rom path variable 'szAppRomPath' to the cfg\finalburn.ini config file. Final Burn will search in this directory for rom zip files. By default it will search in the folder 'roms'. (If you change this option, make sure you include the final \ on the path name.) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Final Burn ------------------ Put the romsets (zipped) in the subdirectory (folder) called "roms". For Rail Chase (Jap), make sure it is called railchaj.zip For Galaxy Force II, make sure it is called gforce2.zip For Galaxy Force II (Jap), you need both gforce2.zip and gforce2j.zip For Power Drift, make sure it is called pwrdrift.zip For Power Drift (Jap), you need both pwrdrift.zip and pwrdrifj.zip For After Burner II, make sure it is called aburner2.zip For After Burner I, you need both aburner1.zip and aburner2.zip since they share some data. Note: the emulator colors will appear wrong if your desktop is in 256-color (8-bit). Right-click on your desktop, properties, settings, and raise you color depth to 16-bit or higher before you run the emulator. Now Run the emulator and select your game, click Load, pick the game you wish to play. *Note that if the romset is incomplete large sections of graphics and/or sound will be missing.
