OpenBeOS - There has been a talented group of programmers that have been putting together a totally free and open source implentation of the vastly underrated operating system BeOS (read more about it here). They are asking for some help with the networking for it, as it only consists of one person right now.
Our networking team is, right now, a team of one.
We need some serious help. If you are "into" the whole
low level coding lifestyle, especially if you have kernel
experience, and want to do some serious work with the BSD Network stack and the kernel of OBOS, this is the perfect opportunity for you. See the Networking Team page for more details and contact info.
Check out the OpenBeOS site for details and to check out what they've done so far.
TROGDOR Arcade - A new arcade game has been added to my favorite web cartoon, homestar runner. I had to run IE (in a virtual machine), to get it to run though. See if you can find the secret room with the gold! Get some burninating action in while you are doing your taxes! :)
xmame/xmess 0.66.1 - xmame/xmess-0.66.1 is now available for download. There are several caveats for this version:
Special effects, activated via -effect/-ef, are broken unless rotation is disabled. A fix is in the works, but it increased build time and executable size too much, so it needs more work.
Xv's YUV mode doesn't work correctly unless rotation is disabled.
Several games, such as Ms. Pac-Man with artwork enabled, won't work with the new OpenGL code. Sven is aware of this, and will no doubt come up with a solution.
As usual, thanks for the many contributions and suggestions. You can grab a patch for 0.65.1 from here, or the full source tarball from here. Changes since 0.65.1:
Amost everything from MAME 0.66 and MESS CVS.
Enabling X11_DGA in the makefile causes make install to set the suid bit on the executable. (Christopher Stone)
The Barath frameskipper is now enabled by default. (suggested by Christopher Stone)
Fixed the use of sdl-config in src/unix/unix.mak on platforms such as FreeBSD. (Stijn Hoop)
Rotation has been moved to the blit core and should be a lot faster. (Shyouzou Sugitani)
Updated the GLmame driver to 0.94, which supports hardware bitmap rotation and should fix the OpenGL problems that have affected recent releases. (Sven Goethel)
Analog controls work again, and the analog code is now synced up with the Windows code. (Sebastien Devaux)
The -joydev switch now allows a full device name, such as /dev/input/js0, to be specified.
Added makecd_mame2.pl to contrib tools; this script aids with burning CDs with ROMs, flyers, and cabinets. (Luc Saillard)
Renamed -gamma-correction to -gamma to be consistent with the Win32 version. It should also work now.
An Xv-enabled build should no longer report 0 bits per pixel and stop on a display that doesn't support the Xv extension. (Alexander Miller)
The -brightness switch now works as in Windows. Removed obsolete brightness and gamma code from sysdep_palette.
Idle sleeping is now disabled while the onscreen configuration menu is displayed. This works around a problem with key and button presses not registering when setting input preferences.
The -record and -playback switches now work as in the Win32 version. Also, the inp/ directory is now created on startup if it is missing.
MAME's disassemblers are no longer built by default. This avoids having to make some ugly little patches to the core. (Christopher Stone)
Removed the obsolete 8bpp update functions from most of the targets. This should speed compilation and produce a smaller binary.
Building on IRIX should again work "out of the box".

Hu-Go 2.10 - Hu-Go! a Turbografx-16/PC-Engine/CD emulator for DOS, Win32, and Linux, has seen its latest update to 2.10. Quite a bit new, with zooming, a new fullscreen engine, less crashing, and rewritten CD code for the Win32 port and SDL joypad support under *Nix. You can grab it here.
Colour graphics (ball, paddle, bricks and a background image).
Bricks fade out when you hit them.
Things don't flicker when they move (play Brix in any other emulator to get a seizure).
Emu 5kb runs best in the latest version of Mozilla, use A to go left, D to go right. The code is a bit untidy in places, and not as fast as it could be.

GENERAL - Fixed the NOREPEAT flag not working in winamp jukebox lists.
OC ReMix Shirts - Just wanted to mention that OC ReMix shirts and jerseys are now available as well, in sizes medium to double XL, here. Both MAME and OCR do a boatload of bandwidth, and could use the support :)
