Magic Engine WIP - The homepage of the shareware TG-16/PC-Engine emulator, Magic Engine, has been updated with news that version 1.0 will be released in November.
MagicEngineFX, the PC-FX emulator, should be released at the same time, barring any difficulties between now and then.

Removed -listinfo, since it's no longer supported by the core.
The support for network play and rapidfire is no longer in vanilla MAME, so they have to be patched into the core for releases.
Builds on LinuxPPC should no longer give warnings about "PPC" being redefined.
Removed romalizer from src/unix/contrib/tools since it has been abandoned.
Reworked the makefiles so that dirtied files in src/unix are once again compiled and force the application to relink. It also seems to behave well with parallel (-j) invocations of 'make'.
Enabled messtest in src/unix/unix.mak since it should now build without errors with 'make -j'.

Lemon Amiga Forum is Launched - In order to support the Amiga scene, the founder of the Commodore 64 community, Lemon64, has spent the last few months working on an Amiga site. It's named Lemon Amiga and will be a sister site to Lemon64.
The site will be launched within a few months, but until then they have opened the Lemon Amiga forum. So all you Amiga fans, join in and make yourself at home.

Kega Fusion 0.1 Beta - Kega Fusion, the newest iteration of Steve Snake's Kega, has been released. It is a Sega Genesis/32x/SegaCD, and now the only emulator so far to emulate Sega 32x CD games.

Girigiri Public Domain? - EmuFanatics has posted news that the copyright for the Sega Saturn emulator, which Sega purchased for use as a commercial product, GiriGiri, has expired in 2003. According to an e-mail from Sega, the project's copyright reverted back to the original author. This means that Girigiri is once again a free project.

Portable NES - Ben Heckendorn, the creator of such homemade portable devices as the VCSp, the SNESp, and the PSp, has created a new handheld NES (presumably the NESp if past naming schemes mean anything). It's got a huge layout with a 5" screen in order for the cartridges to slide down the back, and is much more impressive than any other portable NES projects I've seen, including the commercial Hong Kong devices such as the GameAxe. Check it out, as well as Ben's other devices if you haven't already, as they're all quite impressive.

Logiqx Updates - Logiqx has had a major update of his utilities and documents. DatUtil v2.0 and MAMEDiff v2.0 are basically complete rewrites and are now far more powerful. DatLib v1.0 has been integrated into his tools, so ROMBuild v2.0, ROMInfo v2.0 and ZIPIdent v2.0 are available as well. His FAQs have also been up to date, and a Nebula case study has been added for those interested.
