You can also simply highlight a large selection of file links on a webpage and download them. Really useful stuff. - prophet

Brian Troha informed me "this was the game for which people could (not) figure out the CPU, which was later discovered to be an ARM 32 bit CPU (simular to those in the Acorn Archimedes computers). Not to mention there are a few other Data East arcade games believed to us this chip as well (IIRC): Tattoo Assassins & Figher's History to name 2. Perhaps quite a few post 1992 games... only time will tell." (Now PLEASE someone emulate Moon Shuttle.:) (Thanks Smitdogg, Brian T. & Shawn) - prophet

You friends take you to the local girly bar, where you get yourself a lapdance :) Since you're a bit drunk, you think that this would be a good time to check out the breasts of that lovely woman giving you a lapdance, so you get yourself more acquitainted with them.

    You're so overjoyed that you forget to breathe and suffocate in that Valley Of Endowment! That's not very smart, is it ? The lapdancer freaks out (dead man between her breats and all) and then your family decide to sue the lapdancer because her breats were too big?!?! - atila

  • MAMECAT 0.43 final - MAMECAT stands for M.A.M.E. Catalog/Launcher. It consists of three programs: qmamecat, an X11/Qt based GUI and the main application; qmsetup, a startup setup wizard for qmamecat; and catgen, a simple catalog generator. qmsetup and catgen are started on demand by qmamecat. Changes: This will be the last version with support for Qt 2 and Qt 3; future versions will require Qt 3.0.0 or above. There is a bugfix for missing word wrap in the default font sample when using Qt 2 (no fix is needed for Qt 3). Qt's built-in sort indicators are used for the gamelist header now, and there are minor changes to the column descriptions. Additionally, the options dialog now contains all directly configurable options. This version has been tested with Qt 2.3.1, 2.3.2, 3.0.0, and 3.0.1 ! License: GPL. - chris

    * Fixed stupid Shadow/Highlight bug in DOUBLE mode (I accidentally deleted a line)
    * Added 15-Bit Colour support

    * Fixed the "APPLY" button, even though it isn't really neccessary, it was causing some confusion with several users. So now it works.
    * ZIP support. This is my own UNZIP code, using nothing but the RFC docs for reference. (in ASM ;-) ok, I'm a speed freak...) Kega does not require ZLIB.DLL.
    * Rewrite/Speedup to some CDC emulation code. Should improve SegaCD speed slightly.

  • Devastator Reviewed in Maximum PC - The always excellent Maximum PC (print magazine) recently published a review for an emulation arcade control panel called the Devastator! They seemed to like it quite a lot, and with 2 sticks, a trakball and spinner, I can imagine why. Although, they need a 6 button layout to the right of each stick to properly support fighters and games like Missile Command that need 3 buttons in a row. But otherwise it looks great IMO! And it's always cool seeing MAME/emulation mentioned in magazines. :) (Thanks David Haynes)

    Update: - Check out RoarVGM to read a scan of the review online! (Thanks Tortri) - prophet

  • GP32 Emulated? - There's a portable 32bit system in Korea called the "Game Park 32" (similar to the GBA) which may have already been emulated. "The virus is not yet in the wild, but it is clear proof that virus writers continue to search for new ways to infect computer users," said Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant for Sophos Anti-Virus.

    SWF/LFM-926 only infects other Macromedia Flash files but the technique could be applied to create viruses with more damaging payloads, he warned.

It focuses on the exact reproduction of graphical effects possible on the C64, and comes in three "flavors" (Frodo, Frodo PC, and Frodo SC) with increasingly higher quality of emulation, but at the cost of higher processing power requirements. Frodo has been ported to a number of systems, including handheld computers. The Unix version can use either SDL, X11, or SVGAlib to display the graphics. Changes: The Tcl/Tk preferences GUI has been improved. Frodo now uses SDL (1.2 or later) for graphics output by default, which eliminates the restriction to 8-bit displays. License: Free for non-commercial use. - chris

It's still a mini (now called the Ultra model), but this time there's a nifty coin box built-in and I chose to have it built like a normal cabinet, so there's no keyboard drawer, and the control panel is a flip up style! I also am using my own PC BTW. It's awesome - I hope to get some pictures soon and update my ArcadePC Mini review as well. A home isn't a home without an arcade machine. :P - prophet

  • M1 0.6 - Version 0.6 of this Model 1 and 2A sound emulator has been released. It can be downloaded from here. Changes from 0.5:

    * Added Japanese Daytona set, corrected badly dumped US set using it's ROMs
    * Added WingWar R360 version
    * Added minimal user interface to both Linux and Win32: ESC now exits cleanly (useful for those of you still running DOS-based Windows like 98 and ME) and + and - keys to navigate the tunes for each game.
    * Overall volume boosted substantially. Now you get more of the benefit out of your 16-bit soundcard ;-)
    * Added log-to-.WAV feature
    * Fixed sample addressing glitch that caused some sounds not to play properly (notably the start of VF command #1 has thunder and "whoosh" sounds which were missing in 0.5. This was first fixed in Modeler 0.9.3a).
    * Daytona US version set now uses the sample ROMs from the Japanese set (they're interchangable, and the ones in the original US set were bad). I realize it kinda sucks that you have to duplicate the samples in two zips now, but hey :)
    * Win32 version now uses a statically linked libz so no external DLL should be necessary.

    Thanks to R. Belmont for the news. - chris
