It's possible to load a skin at runtime and reload it automatically at startup.

Gex v0.9.4 - Gex, (Gameboy Emulation Extreme) has been updated. Changes are;
Windows XP BUG fixed (i think so, because GEX itself is now completly programmed with WINAPI)
CGB RAM BANK SELECTING BUG fixed (used in infinite bobs)
VERY VERY big BUG in RAM bank selecting fully fixed..
Many many more roms runs perfectly (like ZELDA_DX,NIGHTMODE,NEO-RACER or STRIPPED)
ShapeShifter-support improved, all Kickstart 2.x/3.x versions supported
Lores-mode support for "sprites outside display window"-feature
Emulation compatibility improvements Elfmania, Rainbow Island (broke accidentally in R6), Mission Elevator (properly fixed this time...), SWIV, Old Timer, Inferior, Sub Rally, Sargon History, TBL demos, Sound of Silents, Cardamom, Cardamon etc..
Analog joystick (paddle) ports emulated
Improved hard/ZIP disk RDB detection
Action Replay 2/3 state file support
Sound "power led" filter emulation
Freely selectable sound sample rate (8000 - 48000)
- "direct" serial port support, fixes PC to PC Lotus 2 serial link problems. (two player only, 3 or 4 players require lower serial latency that is not possible under Windows)
Kega Lazarus - Kega Lazarus release 4 has been released. Changes are;
Fixed SMS Ace of Aces issue - this game now runs without the SMS BIOS.
Fixed GameGear Background Colour, which I must have broken with Kega Lazarus SE :p
Fixed GameGear Shining Force series. These games should now work correctly.
Fixed slight SMS/GG Timing problem with the last H-Interrupt.
Fixed issue when enabling and disabling SMS V-Interrupts rapidly.
Altered the SegaCD CDD emulation slightly. The WolfTeam games should once again work in Kega.
Kega will once again become idle when minimised.
Added VGM Logging. VGM is similar to the GYM format, but much nicer - and supports the 8-Bit Sega consoles as well as the Genesis/MegaDrive. Plug-ins to play these files with WinAmp are available. Currently VGM does not support the SegaCD PCM chip, so these sounds will not be logged - yet.
Added support for the Sega Game 1000, and Sega Computer 3000. Load ROMs for these machines as Master System ROMs, and Kega will detect them at runtime. Note that most (if not all) of these ROMS will *not* work with the SMS BIOS enabled, since they lack the signature that the BIOS uses to detect them. Also note that I do not support the SC3000 Keyboard, and currently have no plans to do so (it gets in the way of the GUI :S)
Added "BIOS Disable" option to the SMS/GG config screen, to make it easier to get around the problem mentioned above.
Added SMS/GG/SG1000/SC3000 Save States. Loading of MEKA states is not yet possible, this may be added at a later date.
AdvanceMAME 0.69.0 - AdvanceMAME is a port of the MAME and MESS emulators for arcade monitors, TVs, and PC monitors. Changes: This release fixes the video polarity with the Linux Frame Buffer driver. It also adds preliminary support to export the internal database in XML format.

Genesis Plus / DC 0.1 - Today is the day of the Dreamcast Genesis emulators, as Blackaura has released his port of Genesis Plus in This DCEmulation Topic.
Compatability is high - out of Blackaura's tested games, only two didn't work. Speed is around 50 percent, setting the frame skip above 1 makes it jumpy, there is currently no sound, and it is themable. The current theme is made by Politoe, and was chosen by a vote on DCEmu's message boards.
Duke Nukem Forever - Well, the game has finally been released. For the Atari 2600 that is. 3DRealms has released the binary for the Atari 2600 version for Duke Nukem forever. This game is playable on your favority Atari 2600 emulator. Get the binary here

Misc: 'Deeper check for fixable missing files' option won't look for missing biosfiles in each set (depends on 'allow separate bios roms') (it IS called for the BIOS set itself of course)
Fixed: Rare sha1 issue when scanning romsets with chds (showing a correct sha1 as wrong)
Fixed: Useless 'wrong sysdefpath' message when keeping
diskimages roms/chds separated and roms are missing.
Satourne WIP - There's been an update and some new screenshots over at the Satourne website. Targaff from our forums was nice enough to translate the text.
"What are you doing this weekend?
You may have noticed the display bugs in the test version of Satourne ... so let it be known that Fabien has corrected the planar bug :) Here are two screen captures, one from yesterday and the other this morning: [two screens go here] Not bad, eh? :) Even better, here are three further screenshots of the Sega Saturn game Night [sic!]: [insert 3 screens here] More very soon!"
VirtuaNES v0.78 - VirtuaNES, the Winows based Nintendo emulator has been updated today. New additions & changes are;
Add some equivalence patterns to simple virus checkers. (?)
Saved a state of a source emulation part by a state save. Think that the phenomenon that a sound becomes strange almost disappears in state load. (Note) Don't store VRC7.
Shortcut key processing a few revision.
These "changes" were taken directly from the emulator's history.txt which was created using Japanese/English translation software.

Support for devfs and non-standard SIO2PC cables (using the DSR instead of the RI line) has been added to the kernel driver. Several smaller bugfixes and improvements were made to the kernel driver and atariserver.
Note that fronthelp.c was replaced with a slightly modified version of the Windows file, so there may be some glitches in the front-end handling. Also, if you use GCC 3.3, there will be a lot of warnings that we haven't looked into yet.
Changes since 0.67.2:
Almost everything from MAME 0.68 and MESS 0.68.

GP32 Update - Thanks to Play-Asia, I received my replacement GP32 FLU today. I expect to post my review in two parts, with part one coming this Sunday. Hopefully some visitors will find it interesting, and yes, there will be comparison photos with the GBA SP. I'd also like to give a special thanks to Bada at JoyGP for helping me retrieve my software purchases - if you didn't know, JoyGP is a great site where you can download commercial and free software for the GP32 and install it yourself on SmartMedia cards! Easily one of the best things about the GP32. :) Now for a few GP32 news bits:
First off, the GP32 Doom port is really coming along nicely! Today's v5 release adds brightness options, improved controls, tweaked save/loads, and more speed. Keep in mind this is TRUE Doom, and you can use any original Doom WAD files with it. Downloads are available at GP32Emu. Also check out CraigX's GBAX, he's the fellow who's been busily improving the Doom port.
In portable Atari ST news, Skeezer is now up to v.10.2 of CaSTaway/GP. This emulator is a must-have for GP32 users. This release features numerous tweaks to the UI.
Lastly, a very nice C64 game called XScape was ported to GP32! It's a superb puzzle game with very nice oldsk00l graphics and some thumping music setting the mood.
Cadillacs and Dinosaurs Single Game Mame For Dreamcast - Reaper has released another Single Game Mame build for Dreamcast. The game plays near 90-100% without sound, and is playable at about 79-90% with sound. (As you may or may not be aware, games do slow down when more graphics are present). Reaper's wife did the GUI graphics for this release.

ZINC interpreter 1.01 - Zinc (the Z-machine Including Network Capabilities) allows you to play text adventure games (also known as interactive fiction) either on your own, or cooperatively over a network. A number of other bug fixes relating to network games were also made. The chat system now supports the /me command.
Donate and Win a SlikStik - Whilst I'm here I'll add a note about the competition we have over at MAMEWorld, to win a SlikStik controller. Basically you donate toward's Randy/Guru's MAME Dumping Project and for every $5 donated via MAMEWorld you get a virtual draw ticket towards the SlikStik competition. The competition ends in just a couple days so you may want to check it out soon. No profits are taken, all proceeds go towards helping buy wanted boards for dumping.

MAME .68 released - MAME .68 was released yesterday. Binaries and source are already online. Also Twisty's SmoothMAME .68 has been released. This is the build that runs all games at .60 fps (provided your PC can actually run it at that speed). If my quick examination of the specs are right, it can use memory sticks as well as a new proprietary disk format, suggesting that *maybe* homebrew games and emulators could be an option for it. Too soon to tell of course. Here's a few info links: IGN, Gamespot, Gaming-Age, and Gamers.com. Update: Here's a link with photos, mainly about the new "UMD" disk format for PSP. (Thanks spritescaler)

Marbles All Over - Marble Madness has infected quite a few imaginations it seems... :) First off, we have the newly released Marble Madness 2003, a delicious looking full 3D take on everyone's favorite marble rolling game. It's actually an Unreal Tournament 2003 mod, and requires the 2225 patch to play. (Thanks Fizzy+Tasha) And in more traditional 2D madness, Xiaou2 happily reports that his Marble Insanity project has aquired a new 3D artist, but more help is needed - so visit and contact him if interested!

And in Off Topic News - As of Wendesday May 07, 2003 Atari is officially back in the videogaming business. French videogame company Infogrames has officially changed their name to Atari.. Yeah, I know it's only a publicity stunt to gain attention and that its not the SAME Atari, but it's still a trip seeing the name on the game boxes and ads.
CaSTaway/GP 007 - Skeezix updated his full speed, full sound Atari ST emulator for GP32 again!

CHG: Render the virtual keyboard less often; shouldn't hit performance anymore to have it showing
FIX: Can drop from frameskip 90 to 0 in one hit now; (used to work only with 91+)
(Thanks GP32 Extreme)

TapWave Helix - Whoah... Just when I get into GP32, a new company announces a new Palm OS based game system. ;) It sounds amazing, with an ARM9 CPU, ATI graphics chip, 3.8" screen, built-in rumble, and li-ion battery. It will also include full PDA functionality, as well as MP3 and video playback features. Details here, and here's the TapWave homepage. But can it run MAME? We shall see... The GP32's strength is it's open source philosophy - you can develop for the thing right out of the box. I've contacted TapWave about their philosophy and development strategy, so if I hear anything interesting from them I'll report it. :)

PCEAdvance v1.8 - PCEAdvance is a PC Engine emulator for the Gameboy Advance. It's still pretty primitive (slow, no sound, buggy) but some games do run fine. Changes in this version are;
VirtuaNES v0.77 - VirtuaNES, a Windows based NES emulator has been updated today as well. Changes are;
Add an option doing Sleep when uses an option of "Sync drawing". Please add "SyncNoSleep=1" to a [Graphics] section when uses it. Default off. A frame rate depends on monitor frequency when turns this option into ON.
Note: Please do not use it when can't select monitor frequency in full-screen with Windows9x(Include Me) series.
Displayed a key of VRC7 with a NSF player mode. Note: Display a musical scale of a channel in key-on.
Correct that FPS and shortcut key processing become too fast when it makes the number of frame skip increasing between pauses of emulation.
Saturnin WIP - "Hi ! I managed to get the test and service switches working, and I was able to fool around. Some options are hanging the emulator as some parts are not yet emulated, but the others work fine. I added some parts of DMA support (as it's used in the saturn bios), and the VDP1 tables are set. So Saturnin will start displaying some 3D graphics soon :)"
There's also some new pictures on the Official Homepage

GP32 FLU Update - Well, I've been using my new GP32 FLU (frontlit GP32) for about a week and it's everything fans have said! About an hour ago Skeezix released a new version (0.6) of his astounding CastawayGP port (Atari ST emulator), which now runs full speed with CLEAN SOUND! Not to mention CraigX & Guyfawkes getting Doom to run with saves and sound! And Speccy fans should check out Speccyal'K v0.2, which has full sound now and more. I'm putting together a review of the GP32 FLU, and hope to get it online within the next week. Only problem is I had some dust under the screen, and decided to clean it out... :( Big mistake, I accidentally scratched the inner light screen, making it look far worse. DOH! So if you get one, either ignore any dust, or be incredibly careful if you decide to take matters into your own hands. I'm now trying to get it fixed somehow, which will be tricky since Game Park is in Korea... I bought it from Play-Asia, a very good import store, so perhaps they can help me out. I dunno. Depending on how things go, I suppose my review will include information about getting GP32's serviced. :) Gotta find the silver lining in the cloud I suppose. (Thanks GP32Emu)
