The Register is reporting that Nintendo has shut another site down, namely the sEMUf Site. At the moment it's not clear WHO they mailed, hopefully we'll here more about that later. I have a few words to say to Nintendo, but since this is a "family site" I'll refrain from using the multitude of four-letter words that I'm shouting while writing this update.

This next line made us chuckle on IRC: <Orochi> WARNING!!!!! BEFORE PLAYING ANY OF THESE GAMES YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT EMULATION WILL CAUSE YOUR CHILDREN TO RUN AMOK KILLING PEOPLE NEEDLESSLY, ALSO ATILA IS THE LEADING CAUSE OF STARVATION IN 3RD WORLD COUNTRIES, BUT ONLY BECAUSE HE IS A MOB-LORD AND STEALS ALL THEIR FOOD AND WORKS THEM LIKE SLAVES TO CODE NEW EMULATORS AND REFINE COCAIN!!!! This has been a warning from the surgeon general.Heh

Thanks to JoseQ for the news
Magic Engine news: Deej of Emu24X is reporting that Magic Engine (PCE/TG16 emu) is now a WIN32 emu utilizing DirectX and has FULL SuperGrafx emulation, aswell as lots of new features. Also, Magic Engine *MIGHT* be released as freeware, although it's worth EVERY penny it's charged for.

[15:34] <fam^> i've read a report that says they were browsing the web just before they did those killings, the police looked through the internet explorer history for that day and found www.retrogames.com, they think somthing on your site made them do it
[15:34] <fam^> they want to arrest you for second degree murder
If you want to know what's going to happen with DirectX 7 & 8, regarding speed-ups and new supported things, be sure to click here. I also heard today that NT4 will get DirectX 7 this fall, that sure makes me happy because the only reason I use WIN95 nowadays is to play an occasional game every now and then. Quick news round-up: The Moonlit Coalition has posted some news regarding the drivers they'll be using in the future for use with Sunset. 1964, the open source N64 emulator, has been updated to version 0.13, no major new things, but worth a download anyway. Thanks to EV and ES for the newsbits

I've just tried the new PSEmu beta, man it's awesome!! One thing that the coder changed BIGTIME is the compatibility rate, it's almost 80% now!! Sound is awesome, graphics are awesome and it's even smaller than the current public release. I will DEFINATELY donate something, this emulator is definately worth it. I *REALLY* hope that this will get a public release soon (hey, isn't there an anniversary coming up soon ??) so you will all be able to enjoy it. I just hope that people won't ask for a refund @ bleem.com if this gets released =) Thanks again to Deej for "mediating", you rock!!
Here are a few pics of the Electronic Arts booth at E3, click on "BIGGEST CROWD AT E3" and you might spot someone whose emus you've played a LOT. According to Zophar, he might be next to the dude with the sign, then again there are a huge amount of people next to that one dude :)

Emu24X is reporting about a new version of PSEmu Pro, version 2.0! A new anonymous author has stepped in and continued PSEmu Pro, PSEmu has a new dynarec R3000 core which is AT LEAST twice as fast as the old one. This means SPEED!!! MDEC is now sooooooo smooth, it's ridiculous :) There is just one problem, the author is SERIOUSLY thinking of NOT releasing this publically and you can't really blame the guy. PSEmu was the first PSX emu, with great 3D hardware support, 100% freeware, runs several games with PERFECT sound and PERFECT fps, yet noone ever donated ONE DOLLAR to this emulator. 20,000+ people did shell out $20+ for bleem! and most were disappointed. Deej of Emu24X is a PSEmu Pro beta tester and has the alpha version. He will probably post MPGs and pics of PSEmu Pro 2.0 later today.

Telekawaru has some serious trouble at home, so he won't be able to work on SNES9x for a while, here's what he had to say: I don't know how much longer I will be able to go online from my house. My step-father (The drunken @$$hole) decided that I don't need an ISP or a phone line. Today he tried to stop me from going online by ripping some wires from my phone jack, but I guess he thinks I'm an idiot and wouldn't know how to put it back together. He'll be pissed about that. In any even, I will probably end up moving into a friend's house for awhile. I'll be able to get online there. So, hopefully, if I am banned from the internet for awhile, it will only be very temporary. See ya. Very sad news indeed, I hope your situation gets better soon. Thanks to News-U-Lator for the news

This next article made me chuckle, according to CNN, Disney has removed all of the violent video games from its theme park acrades. A Disney spokesman was quoted saying: "It's not an indictment of the industry -- this is just not the place for violent video games." Hmm, if I'm not mistaken some of the Disney cartoons contain a fair amount of violence. It's overreacting, that's what it is. Pretty soon we'll see trying to shoot other people who will then say that "all the cuteness made me do it!". I wonder who they will sue then, chances are Disney because they are the "mother of all that is cute", heh :)

Richard Ragon (CEO of Hotrod) mailed me about the attention their Arcade Joystick for the PC got: Right before the E3, some offices from ZD news, dropped by our office and took some photos of the HotRod Joystick Unit. A few days later they came over to our area in the Capcom booth at the E3 show, and got a nice little demonstration of the HotRod Joystick and the ArcadePC. They liked it so much they wrote up an article about it -- which you can read here, this should be the ultimate solution for us PC gamers :)

BLEEM! HAS BEEN RELEASED!! Yes, the wait is over, go download this Playstation emulator for WIN9x NOW, remember to have your KEY CD ready!
Sony is acting like a big bully at the E3 Expo, it forced the bleem! people to remove the comparison shots between the Playstation and bleem! To get this done, Sony sent their lawyers and a few E3 officials to the bleem! booth. Sony is starting to look real bad, probably even worse than Nintendo. Read the full story here. Thanks to Stick_Fig for the link.

Since we all spend too much time online, we might as well do something productive, like play Rondal's Portal! Rondal's Portal is an online Role Playing Game and it's FREE :)
(Gridle asked me to post this) Seti @ Home has begun! This project is quite neat - it fetches a block of radiotelescope data from a server on the internet, then works on that data, trying to find sensible sounds from it. Much nicer than those RC5 key finding contests!
Microsoft is asking for a wh00ping -- a BIG one! They are backing legislation which basically sucks for you, the US consumer. Article 2B, as it's known, absolves software producers from virtually all liability for their products. Even if it's shipped with a virus, doesn't match a demo, is just plain defective or so bug-ridden it's unusable, US customers will have no right of redress. Nice huh ??
Larry Bank (author of HiVE) has opened his CODE CORNER, a collection of pages on how to speed up current MAME drivers and how to do certain things the best way, emulationwise. Thanks to JoseQ for the news
I was deleting some files off of my HD and I found this zip with Tempest 2000 mods (580kb). It gives you a small sample of what this game will kinda sound like once the Jaguar is emulated :) I have no idea how this file got on my PC so I don't really know who to thank for it. Use ModPlug to play these files, WinAMP just doesn't cut it :)
Boukichi, author of DBOY, has released MGX 0.01 - a Game Gear emulator. You can run games using the commandline, mgx file.gg will do the trick. That's about all I know at the moment since the docs are in Japanese, check the MGX/DBOY Site for more info
Don Tapscott, chairman of the new media think tank Alliance for Converging Technology, said during the opening keynote at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) that the entertainment industry is NOT to blame for teen violence. ZDNN has the full article here, thanks to shaolin for the link.

Sega-Otaku (hi Mike ;) has the full list of US Dreamcast launch titles, click here to see the list. The US launch is way better than the Japanese launch :)
Glide Underground is reporting that Creative Labs (Sound Blaster, etc) has released a Glide Wrapper called Unified for their TNT based cards, which you can download here. It's apparently pretty fast but not really compatible yet, but CL promises frequent updates. I wonder what 3DFX has to say about this :)
Sony will start to sell its new robot dog called AIBO from this July on, it's a pretty smart dog too. And it's only US$2,500! Thanks to MercuryZ for the link
A bit late, but better late than never. Here's Z26 1.29! Z26 is an Atari 2600 emulator which works in DOS/WIN9x/NT, click here to see what's new. You can get the source to Z26 here, check the Z26 Site for more news. Thanks to wook for the news.
Here's a cool MP3 of Mancow calling a Thai restaurant and ordering Thai food. What he's really ordering is a bunch of rap stars; "One order of Tupac Shakur and Two Short Ribs" - "I need Thai food, coz ME SO HUNGRY!" - "You no have Wu Tang Clan ? What kind of restaurant is this ??". Click here to download the file.
PC Arcade has a bit of news on the next NeoRAGE-X release, Janne and Anders have implemented 44khz sound and fixed the zoom and a few gfx glitches. Could this mean that a NRX release is near ??? Thanks to UNAE for the news
The Underground Connection has put up a pic of their Zelda game for PSX, they're trying to convert the game to Playstation, not emulate it :) I've been seeing bits and pieces of it for about 3 weeks now, including several .avis of the game running on PSEmu. The graphics will be altered before release because Nintendo will probably go bananas if they would release it like this :)
JoseQ has released another RUMOR MILL, Phozon is making a HiVE release! There's a lot more rumors there, so go check it out :)
I've received about 200 mails about Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors for which I'd like to thank everyone who mailed me :) I now have both the intro and ending of the series in MPG format! I'll try to encode them to RealVideo and put them up for download. Click here to download the intro in MP3 format :)
Steve Antony Willams (Steve_W in #retrogamers) has sent me a poem he found on USENET about bleem, click here :)

I have a special request, since noone on #retrogamers seems to remember this cartoon, I'm looking for the theme song of JACE AND THE WHEELED WARRIORS. Don't mail me the theme, just provide me a link if possible. Thank you :)
Claudia Wallis over at TIME.COM has written an article on about her son, who plays Zelda64 a lot, from a mother's point of view. It's a refreshing article, one we don't see too often, which basically tells parents to actually play the game once with their kids and show some interest in what their kids are doing. Click here to read the article and thanks to Colour Cure for the link
New Back In Time released! This month's edition has an interview with Hugh Falk, who is a writer & reporter for many publications in the mainstream gaming media, including C|Net Gamecenter, Gamepower, and PC Gamer magazine. He has recently entered into the world of gaming software development. Definately a good listen! June will see 2 episodes, one with Larry Bank of HiVE and one with Buckner & Garcia of the Pac Man Fever album. Back In Time is a RealAudio show.
TRS-80 1.6b2 for Mac released, the main new thing is that this emulator is now MacOS 8.5 aware. I'll try to upload the binaries later, because I'm getting about 20 bytes per second on the upload for some weird reason. Thanks to Richard Bannister for the news.
Project Global is no more! Pmastas_ says that PG is going underground (= finished) because of all the things that have happened in the past few days. So we'll never see this "N64 emulator" in released form, but I guess this is what you could except when you mess around with a pic of your emulator ?
"Set your Fasers/Tasers to STUN" -- FOR REAL!! Thanks to The THERAPiST¿ for the link
Nullsoft, makers of WinAMP, have announced that they will no longer be distributing Nitrane, their MP3 decoding engine. Nitrane is the cause of a $20mln lawsuit brought upon NullSoft by Playmedia Systems, who filed the suit because of copyright infringement, fraud, and breach of contract. Click here to read more about Nullsoft's deciscion.
Next Generation Nintendo console announced! According to Next-Generation Online, NCL is teaming up with IBM and Matsushita to deliver the ultimate experience. IBM will supply the main PowerPC CPU @ 400 Mhz (its heart) and Matsushita will supply the DVD drive for use with the console. Nintendo will also use "Enhanced Counterfeit Protection" to stop people from pirating the console and its games. More news is expected at the E3, thanks to wook and Phil Baxter for the news
I'm sorry about the "late" first update(s) this past week, I do have to run a business here. Everything should be back to normal on Friday, maybe tomorrow :)
The Moonlit Coalition has posted pics of games running on Sunset, their N64 emu. Pics have been posted of Mario Kart64, Bomberman, Waverace and San Francisco Rush. I can confirm that the "leaked" Sunset/Waverace pic is in fact real.

Pugsy has updated his MAME CHEAT PAGE, you can download the cheat.dat there, which contains cheats for games for use with MAME! This release contains 13,078 cheats in the current update!!
New TrueReality released! This release is able to run some 3D demos, with a nice picture pack here. In related news, NSFE is being continued and an old source code will be released soon. NSFE is currently being developed as a private project. True Reality is an N64 emu for Linux, thanks to Coolbest for the news
Super Mario Bros. DX for Color Gameboy is floating around the net, thanks to the guys in EFnet #gbc for the ban btw ;)
The MAME Flyer and Poster Archive has been updated to version 3.0, with 31 flyers added and 11 flyers replaced! Also, the flyers are now in .jpg format, so they should be even smaller now, so head on over to the MAME Flyer and Poster Archive Site and download this release
New bleem! demo released! They want you to help out test their new server so I won't be posting a copy here, you'll have to go to the bleem! site and download from there. The build is clean again with NO TIME-LIMIT and a speed-up here and there, bugs are being ironed out, together with this new server, it MIGHT be safe to assume that a release COULD be near ;)
I spoke to bwb of EmuHQ yesterday and one of the coders of MyTurn, and they did agree with me that their initial post was contradicting itself. They did say however, that MyTurn is a real emulator.
Monday, May 10th 1999 - Last updated @ 22:18 CET
Emu+ 0.35 b12 released! You bet, both the DOS version and WIN32 version of this combined OC/AFMAME have been updated, including support for Quiz KOF and Last Blade 2, although LB2 will have to be played in console mode for now. The sources can be downloaded here (DOS version) or here (WIN32 version)
Zoop has released Meka 0.13 to registered users, biggest new features are COLECOVISION emulation and the ability to create GUI themes. Click here to go to the Meka Site
This has gotten way out of hand, students are being harrassed by the schools they go to because of the way they act/dress. Something is VERY screwed up in the States ...... Thanks to Colour Cure for the news.
MAME WIP updated, pics of Rampart and Shuuz added!!
EmuHQ is hosting a Sega Saturn emulator called MyTurn, it doesn't do much yet, but a new release should be up by next week with controller support and partial implementation of CPU processing. N.B. I've removed the download link, this is probably another hoax of some sort. The MyTurn page says that work on the CPU core will begin next week, but one of the testers is saying that NiGHTS already works?! Yet the coders (of all people!!) can't confirm it, it would seem to me that the coders would know what it emulates at this stage. I suggest to everyone that has downloaded it, to delete it. Thanks to Zophar for the eye-opener :)
It's not what you would expect, although the logo is quite a rip-off! Oh, you're wondering what I'm talking about: www.streetfighter.com. Thanks to RGuile for the link
Noticed lots of confusion over KBMAME's neogeo.drv. Here is a complete neogeo.drv with all the latest drivers needed for KBMAME v.9. You MUST rename your Last Blade 2 to lastbld2.zip. Hopefully this will help others who need it. NOTE: The quizkof driver contains a v3 loading fix from Deimos - so you might want to download it anyway, or read this from our NeoGeo board.
Phozon (Namco 1983) coming to MAME! Here are some pics thanks to Emulatronia.

More Simulators coming ! nIRV is starting to write an Learning-Windows Simulator and he needs a bit of help, so click here to read more about it.
I spent the last few hours watching TV, I saw GONE FISHING starring Joe Pesci and Danny Glover. Somehow, I feel that that were another 2 hours NOT spent good.
I've received an essay on videogames and violence, from emuwizard. It's a good read and hits a few nails with a big hammer :)
WAVE RACE64 runs on Project Global! Yep, and this N64 emulator is using OpenGL to get those polygons on the screen, OpenGL people rejoice!! The pic looks extremely yummy btw, so head on over to the Project Global site NOW!
Last night's LIVE Retro Radio show was awesome!! You can download the file at Monroeworld and here too, so you can listen to the 90+ minute show. The file is about 11 Mb big, so if you are on a slow connect, don't download this.
Raine has added one more game, namely OMEGA FIGHTER by UPL, a coooooool vertical shooter! And of course, if you are a regular reader of Retrogames, you'll know that there are 2 more games in the RAINE GUI to chose from now: PUZZNIC and Atomic Robo-Kid. We reported about this about 3 weeks ago :)
Ultimate Gaming Resource has put up a list of things on how to get to the E3 by air or land travel, what places to see in the Los Angeles area, where to eat, where to stay; the list goes on and on! If you're going there, this page is a MUST visit!!
According to a story at Excite, San Franciscans held a party Friday "to de-stigmatize and celebrate the under-recognized activity of self-love." Dubbed National Masturb*tion Day, there will even be a masturb*te-a-thon and sponsors are wanted to donate money for every minute that contestants masturb*te. Money, that will be donated to HIV/AIDS research, click here to read. Thanks to Darin Fontana for the link
WinUAE 0.8.8 R4 released! I guess it's time to use my news catcher or something, because this was released a week ago. This Amiga emulator for WIN9x/NT has received another fine update, click here to see what's new. Thanks to wook and J|nX for the news.
More on TRWIN, it's confirmed that it is in fact real. BUT it will NEVER be released to the public, it's a private project. The pics weren't supposed to be released, from what I've heard. TRWIN was based on True Reality, but was completely rewritten and then it was decided to go private. If I get anymore info, I'll post what I can. I got my info from a MAJOR source in N64 emulation.
I've received some info that the TRWIN/WAVE RACE thingie is a big hoax. I'm trying to gather as much info that I can, info that I'm allowed to publish. From what I've seen, those screenshots do NOT come from TRWIN as far as I'm concerned.
Sir Clive Sinclair has set his sights on a portable Linux machine, which should cost less than half the price of a comparable WINTEL machine. Sir Clive Sinclair was responsible for the ZX-81 and the Spectrum to name but two. Thanks to Richard Bannister for the link
Dextrose has put up some cool pics showing WAVE RACE for N64 from a NON-PUBLIC beta version of TRWIN, an N64 emulator. Quite frankly, they look amazing and a public release is forthcoming! Thanks to J|nX for the link
The FCC has made a small mistake on its mailing list :-) Thanks to DMUltra for the link
Gremlin Graphics and Kingsoft have given Back to the Roots written permission to host their amiga roms! In related news, Activision has given permission for ALL THEIR AMIGA GAMES to be hosted there too! This means that you can play the games LEGALLY on an Amiga emulator from this weekend on!!
Rodimus Prime has just released AMAME 0.35 beta 12, the MAME compile for PII/AMD/486 CPUs. So if you have one of those processors, you might want to download this release, it offers a few frames per seconds more than the regular MAME :) Thanks to Bomb` for the news.
Brad Oliver, co-author of MacMAME, has joined Westlake Interactive, click here to read their press-release. Westlake is known in the Mac community for their ports of games like Tomb Raider II, Duke Nukem and Unreal (to name a few) from PC to Mac. We congratulate Brad and wish him all the best at his new job! Thanks to Richard Bannister for the news
Meka Site updated! Zoop was working, trying to earn some money so the page wasn't updated for a bit. A pic of this thingie called COLECOVISION emulation has been added, a release is planned at the end of the week ;) Thanks to DMUltra for the news.
Emu+ 0.35 Beta 11 released! This is a special version of MAME, it combines a few of those homemade alterations (like AFmame, OCMAME) into one product. Should make things easier :) So, this release has AUTOFIRE and allows all CPUs to be overclocked on a "PER CPU" basis. A WIN32 version is expected soon and new version will be released soon all based on beta 12 sources. Speaking of sources, here's the source for this release. Check the homepage for more info
Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh, I want an iNAX and sit different!! Thanks to ORG2 for the pic
There's a HUGE update on the bleem! site about "yesterday's fiasco", as they put it. It's worth a read, but those expecting another release date or something: it isn't there. Bleem! will be out when it's out.
I received a mail today about the Speak and Spell Simulator and it's one of the nicest mails about emulators I've ever received, here's a snippet: .... I just went out and bought one for my daughter after seeing the homepage. I forgot all about that thing! She can use the one I bought her in the car and the one I download tomorrow on the PC! ....
Speak and Spell Simulator 1.0 released! Mike Green did an awesome job and now we can all listen to those horrible, garbled sounds again ;) This simulator looks and sounds so real, it's scary! Thank you, Mike!!
MESS Site updated again! Ernesto Corvi has submitted some pics of his AMIGA driver and it looks REAL good! Time to add a MESS Page, I think =)
Thursday, May 6th 1999 - Last updated @ 23:01 CET
Small bit of MAMEWIP news: Bryan McPhail, Oliver Bergmann and Randy Mongenel have added RAIDEN to MAME!!!!
SYSTEM16 0.80 DX released! This is Bartman's last release of the SYSTEM16 WIN32 port, he will no longer be maintaining the WIN32 port, because he has deleted the source by accident. This is what was left, it's kinda like an almost like an almost finished beta, but it is good enough :) Thanks to JoseQ for the news.
More MESS news!! Yep, the MESS WIP Page has been updated with news and pics of a PCE/TG-16 driver written by Charles MacDonald. Charles has also rewritten the SMS driver, so head on over the the MESS Site and check it out!
The NeoGeo Review Center has opened! Not a lot of reviews yet, but the ones that are online are pretty in-depth and accurate. Definately a site to bookmark! Oh, and the LOSJ fanatics in #neogeo may not like the LOSJ review ;)
TKmame 0.35-pre8 released! Yep, this multiplatform MAME frontend has received another update. This version's main new feature is support for the new symbolic joystick names, and SNES pad support (Win32 only)
Ricardo Bittencourt (author of BrSMS/MSX) has released his PARROT graphics enhancer. PARROT makes the games look better, because it uses 32,000 colors instead of 32 :) You can now download the source code for this and use it in your own emulator! Thanks to JoseQ for the news
It's true, QUAKE 3 makes kids more violent!! Thanks to m0ebius for the link
Dragonyen has posted a long rant about the current ongoings with bleem!, the PSX emulator. It does make a lot of sense, and to be honest, I feel sorry for the way the bleem! team has been treated lately. It may even be their fault, but let's not forget that Win95 (for isntance) was like 3 years late or something and full of bugs. See, the thing is that once bleem! is released, all those people complaining will probably go "WOW!!!!", those people better NOT say anything.
Sonikku_a has posted a #bleem log from yesterday, when the CEO of bleem!, LLC entered. The log is a bit messy (like IRC ;) but you get the point.
You ever wanted to buy an arcade machine, maybe one of those cool pinball machines or even a LaserDisc game ? Well, now you can thanks to Arcade Warehouse!
I've updated the SNES Page, was lagging a bit :) Also, SunOS and Solaris ports of version 1.19a are available at the SNES9x Site. Thanks to JoseQ for the news
Nemu64 has expanded once again, hWnd (who wrote GL²IDE) has joined the team and will rewrite the Direct3D engine, which should result in a speedup. Some 2D games will work, like Mortal Kombat Trilogy and NBA Hangtime and perhaps a few more (pretty dark on that rift eh ?) The HLE part of Nemu64 can be turned off/on during gameplay, so you can see the speed difference pretty well. A release should follow soon enough, so don't bother the authors about a release date. Oh, the the release AFTER that release will let you play 3D games ;)
And as you probably noticed, there was no bleem! release last night. Reasons for the delay are listed at bleem! site, they will give refunds to those who want it.
Doug Lowenstein for once does something good. There was a meeting yesterday in the Senate about violence and videogames and Doug Lowenstein of the IDSA, was one of the few that stood up for videogames and focussed more on the parents, since the parents buy the pricey games. Nofadz.com has put a page with "who said what" and even Realaudio files of what they said. Some of the things said are so ludicrous, you'd start to think if these people actually know what a videogame is. Thanks to Cable|guy for the news
MESS Site moves to Emuverse! After a 5 month hiatus, the MESS project (kinda like MAME, but for console systems) is back with 2 new systems added to the project: the Enterprise 128K and the Amstrad CPC 6128. Both the new drivers are being developed by Kevin Thacker, the author of Arnold (CPC/CPC+ emu). 2 pictures are available at the MESS Site of these "new" systems
Wednesday, May 5th 1999 - Last updated @ 23:14 CET
The bleem! site has been updated with a bit of news about their new tracker, it shows you what the status of YOUR order is at this very time :-)
I'm feeling better, so updates will return to normal from tomorrow on. That's right, LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of updates everyday =) Not this paltry 10 updates a day anymore.
AmiGenerator 990503 released! This is the Amiga version of Generator, a Genesis emulator. There are apparently heaps of new things in this release, which you can read at the AmiGenerator Site. I was unable to download a copy, because the FTP was full. Thanks to Jerome Davoine for the news.
Bleem! (the Playstation emulator) will be released in about 5 hours from now (21:30 CET) and chances are that 5 minutes after its release there will be a zillion sites offering a cracked/hacked version of bleem!. Please, DO NOT download these files, as they will most likely be virus/BO infected and might end up destroying your system. It is NOT worth the trouble!
Ooh, this is nice (sorta ;). This is a Virtual Dog Sh*t Creator, if you're not good at math, your doodie will probably generate an error :) Thanks to whoever sent me the link, I've lost your mail!!
Gridle has updated the MAME WIP Page again, pics of Cyberball 2072, Rad Action and a whole lot more!
Dboy 0.50 released! This Gameboy emulator has received a pretty big update, here's what's new. Thanks to Kosh for the news and Steven Livingston for the translation
Dgen 1.01 released! Dave has been able to fix his HD, thanks to all those people that mailed him, so he has released a new version of Dgen, his Genesis emulator. This release uses a dgen.ini with several options and has the usual bunch or fixes. Thanks to Till Oldemeyer of SYS2064 for the news.
MAME32 0.35 Beta 12 released!! This is the WIN95/98/NT version of MAME, lots of people have been waiting for this, myself included :)

Bubble has updated AutoFire MAME to Beta 12 and also added support for QKOF, you can get the binary here or the source here
J-ROM has released Quiz King of Fighters, a Japanese-only (I think) NeoGeo game around 8mb zipped! The file appears difficult to download however...
RAGE team are rockin' the NeoGeo emulation world yet again - here's the latest NeoRAGEx version 0.5c!!! This update fixes many problems with games lacking sound, adds autofire, more Shotfactory options and various tweaks and fixes. Thanks Janne and Anders!
Got home at 2:00 AM here in NYC - Sorry for the late emergency update. :)
Monday, May 3rd 1999 - Last updated @ 23:28 CET
I'm feeling a bit sick (must be this good weather!), so if Prophet reads this, feel free to update :-)
I've added a new board, for discussion about current affairs like the Nato Attacks on Serbia or the school shootings. If you are wondering why Retrogames should allow such a board, it's because there's a need for a board like this on this site. I hope this makes the general messageboard a bit cleaner :)
I wonder if someone actually did this :) Thanks to Shih Tzu for the link
New TrueReality for Linux released! For some reason, the file cannot be downloaded from my site, so click here to read what's new and download the file. Thanks to Coolbest for the news
PC Arcade is reporting that we should see a new NeoRAGE-X release today, probably :)
DarcNES 990502 released! Another update from this multi-system emulator for 'nix systems. This release has the usual bunch of bugfixes and improvements, check the homepage for more info
Step 1: [Insert loser here] Step 2: [Loser inserted]. I believe this person is as stupid as Nintendo :) Thanks to bigphoot for the link
DosUAE 0.75d released! This is the DOS version of the Amiga emulator, but inlike its WIN32 counterpart, it's at version 0.75
Speak and Spell Simulator! Yep, one of the machines still on everyone's list is finally here (well, almost ;)! This thing works like the real machine and even sounds the same, although I'm not sure the latter part is good ;) The beta I've tried is pretty amazing and it should be released right here @ Retrogames in a few days, maybe sooner. Depends on how soon the subdomain starts to work :)
This is day 5 of this nice weather, I have this feeling that we will get one week of rain for every nice day we've had =)
This is what I get for being human ... at times :) It's a tad late, but it's here: DarcNES 05.01, the NES/SMS/GENESIS (not quite)/PCE emulator for Unix. There's an X11 version and an SVGAlib version. You can edit the makefile and compile a DOS version yourself :)
The following site has a really cool "RETRO Design", it's modelled completely like an Amiga with workBench 1.3 :) Although it's in German, it's not too difficult to navigate and if you look around, you'll see some Amiga roms for download too :) Click here to see the site
ClrMAME 1.36 released! Roman Scherzer said that this will be the last release for a while, since he will be implementing some new features. Those features will take quite some time. Anyway, this release fixed the PIGNEWTON bug and adds a bit more protection. ClearMAME is a MAME rom manager.
BWAHAHAHA!! Nintendo has a FAQ on its site concerning emulation, ROMS and piracy and NINTENDO once again shows that they think that THEY make the rules. One of the questions in the faq is the following: Does Nintendo Think Emulation Companies Promote Piracy? Why? Yes. The only purpose of video game emulators are to play illegal copied games from the Internet. WRONG! I know for a fact that there are CERTAIN developers out there for various consoles, that use the emulators to test out the game. HAH! Emulators are also used by people at home who code their own games/demos and play/use them on the emulators, since they cannot burn an EEPROM. Here's another one: Are all ROMS on the Internet Illegal? Yes. All ROMs available on the Internet are unauthorized and infringing copies of copyrighted works. WOOOOOHAHAHAH!! NINTENDO seems to forget that some roms are in the public domain and others have gotten the author's permission to be freely distributed. Let's not forget the homebrewn roms, eh ? They also complain about UltraHLE and how it is violating some copyrights and circumvents their anti-piracy security system. To this I have one thing to say: Either you show us what it is violating or you NEVER EVER mention that again! Click HERE to read this ridiculous FAQ. Thanks to DarkMazda's Domain for the link
Here's a patch to make Fatal Fury 3 work again in MAME 0.35 Beta 12. Thanks to Mason for the file.
What a wonderful Sunday :-) Again the sun is shining, it's about 22 Celsius, and quite frankly it's a shame to be sitting inside and working. So, I won't ;)
Saturday, May 1st 1999 - Last updated @ 23:59 CET
MAME 0.35b12 roms! Thanks go to Gridle, again. He simply rocks. (forgottn.zip isn't there, it's not supposed to be enabled)
Dgen 1.0 released! The author of DTMNT strikes again, this time with an Genesis/Megadrive emulator for WIN32. He said it works in WIN95/98 but it also works on my NT4 setup (with the DX5 beta). It's not on the level of Genecyst or Kgen98, but it's all you're gonna get and it ain't that shabby (for now ?). The author of DGen, DTMNT (and the future DTMNT2) has had his partitiontable corrupted by Windows NT4.0. If you believe you may be able to help, please read the second text file included with DGen for a description of the problem. His email address is email@example.com. Click here to go to the Dgen Site
SNES9x 1.19 for Linux/i386 (libc6) released! MASSIVE update, check this: Initial 3dfx support, faster screen rendering on most games, sprite priority problems finally fixed, software z-buffer, sound fixes, 4096 SNES colour mode, special SPC700 cycle timing for some games, multiple colour window bug fixes, ROM check sum validation (check for corrupt/hacked ROMs), and lots of other emulation bug fixes. That's an impressive list, let's hope the DOS/WIN32 ports follow soon :) Speaking of ports, John Stiles has updated the Mac port and it is now at version 1.18e, you can download it at emulation.net.
